Jay joined BMA in 1997 as a consulting geophysicist. In 2001, Jay took over as Managing Director and continues the reputable work of BMA.
Prior to his role with BMA, Jay worked with Lyco Energy, Santa Fe Minerals, Gulf Oil Company, and Delta Exploration among others. He earned his BS from Colorado State University in 1971. Currently he serves as the Treasurer of the Dallas. Geophysical Society and was previously the President of the Dallas Geophysical Society as well as the Board of Directors President of the Prestige Credit Union.
Outside of work, Jay enjoys spending time with his wife, Martha, three kids and five grandchildren. You might find him on golf courses throughout Texas, skiing or trout fishing in Colorado.

Senior Geoscientist - (geology, geophysics, petrophysics). Highly skilled in subsurface interpretation. Extensive experience working onshore to deep water, exploration and exploitation plays. Documented record of discovering and developing high impact oil and gas assets - both conventional and unconventional reservoirs. Additional experience with helium and hydrogen development, carbon (CO2) sequestration and storage, and groundwater projects. Basins worked in the USA include the greater Permian, Ft. Worth, East TX, Anadarko, Arkoma, San Juan, TX-LA Gulf Coast, LA-MS-AL salt basins, DJ, Powder River, San Joaquin, & offshore Gulf of Mexico. Worldwide basins; offshore Africa, Argentina, Columbia, Brazil, Guyana, Suriname, Caribbean, SE Asia, and the Middle East.
Blake has worked for major oil companies (Amoco, Unocal, Fina) and independents, gaining critical insights into the subsurface, worldwide. He earned a MS in petroleum geoscience at Stanford University. He is avid outdoor photographer and occasionally golfs with Jay.
